Bethel is a delightful slice of middle class America sitting just east of Danbury off interstate highway 84, a family oriented NewEngland town with a beautiful Town Green surrounded by churches and small retail shops. Streets are lined with comfortable, modest homes in a variety of styles and sizes and prices are significantly more reasonable than the town’s affluent neighbors to the south.
Bethel has a fine selection of parks offering a network of jogging and hiking trails. Plus, the city provides and maintains a number of athletic fields, picnic areas and a skating pond.
The public schools in Bethel are clustered in a 140 acre Educational Park located at the center of town. In addition to the strong basic curriculum, the school system offers an excellent special educational program and specialized study for academically gifted students.
